Los Angeles Police Department Sends Three Harvey Weinstein Cases to the DA

The district attorney for Los Angeles County says it has received the cases from the city's police department in recent days.

The office is also believed to be reviewing two other possible cases previously submitted by the Beverly Hills Police Department.

The Weinstein camp has yet to comment on the sexual assault cases sent to the DA's office.

The three newer cases were referred to the DA on February 1, but an announcement wasn't made until a week later, the broadcaster reported.

Weinstein, who has been accused by dozens of women of sexual misconduct or assault, is also being investigated by police in NY and London.

"Mr. Weinstein has further confirmed that there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances", his spokesperson said.

It is for the district attorney to decide whether any criminal charges should be filed.

In the wake of the #MeToo movement, the office formed a special task force previous year to handle high-profile sex-crime allegations.

The Weinstein scandal, which first hit last October in a shocking New York Times exposé, was the catalyst for the #MeToo, and later the Time's Up, movement.

Dozens of women, among them A-list Hollywood stars, have come forward to detail allegations of sexual harassment, unwanted advances and assault by the producer.

Their accusations cover the last four decades of his world-conquering career as head of Miramax, and then The Weinstein Company.

Upton said that after her first day of shooting the Guess Lingerie campaign in July 2010, Marciano forcibly grabbed her breasts and started fondling them, insisting that he was "making sure they're real" when she pushed him away.
