Overwatch Announces Lunar New Year Event, Begins on Feb 8th

Players who want to relax and enjoy a cool game of Overwatch should definitely check out the Lunar New Year event.

On February 16, the national retailer of specialty pet products will join millions ringing in the Chinese New Year with its first-ever digital fortune cookie Facebook app in honor of the "Year of the Dog".

"Players will have the chance to collect commemorative cosmetic items with Lunar Loot Boxes and work together to capture the flag on a brand-new map".

This February, Pet Valu will take the old saying, "you lucky dog" to a whole new level.

The trailer for the mode is below, along with the following message: "Wishing you prosperity in the Year of the Dog!".

Outside of a brief trailer released on Twitter, little else is known about the Chinese New Year event.

The company held a similar event for the Year of the Rooster in 2017, but this year players will be celebrating the Year of the Dog. Last year's Lunar New Year event celebrated with traditional clothing and outfits based off the classic Journey to the West story.

Last year's lunar event starred Mei and ran from January 24 through February 13.

And if it's anything like previous Overwatch events, returning skins will be available at a cheaper price. It added new skins for characters like Winston and D.Va, as well as additional sprays, icons, poses, emotes, and animations.
