Sea Of Thieves PC Requirements And Recommended Specs Announced

What gets me about the Sea of Thieves PC specs is that the game can technically run on a modern notebook at 540p; something that few developers would even consider (and probably in line with whatever Microsoft's portable computers can run). Just what these microtransactions actually might entail beyond the basic pet system that's already confirmed is anyone's guess (the only descriptor is something that it'll "bring value to players" and remain cosmetic), but at least it won't involve gambling for what you want.

So Rare could see Sea of Thieves become immensely popular because players across Xbox One and PC have a very low, £7.99 barrier to entry. So if I've got a cat, I can pick up it up and look at it, or you can pick it up and run off with it.

Unlike the majority of modern first-person games, which are often set in war-torn cities or grater-filled battlefields, Sea of Thieves is a pirate-themed open-world adventure game with a cartoon twist. However, going towards the enthusiast end, anyone looking to enjoy the game on maximum graphics settings on a 4K display at 60fps, will require an i7 4790 or a Ryzen 5 1600, along with a GTX 1080ti or a RX Vega 64.

According to Rare, the game will not feature any loot boxes or any form of microtransactions that will affect player progression.

The premium shop won't be live at the game's March launch, either, a decision that makes sense in the context of the ongoing controversy around loot boxes.

Travelling in a crew means there's a good chance other players will have your back when you're exploring for treasure as well, the website says. "That said, he affirmed that "...there will never be loot crates in Sea of Thieves". "But then, as we move into our service-based game - think about a month or two after launch - we're thinking about our first major update that has new goals for people to achieve, new rewards and stuff".

One of the biggest challenges facing the development of Sea of Thieves is the fact that this is unchartered waters (pun intended) for Rare. Again, it's completely optional. "That's a hard and fast principal to us".

"So that's how we want to support it". "So if I have a monkey, I can hold it, because it's a monkey and we can hold most things in our game".
