Take-Two Interactive "Impressed" With Nintendo Switch Sales Momentum

Take-Two Interactive

When purchasing anything from the Switch eShop, an option will become available that will let you spend your Gold Points as a payment method.

Nintendo is giving Switch owners a new way to spend their My Nintendo coins, the company announced on the service's website. The coins can then be redeemed on eShop purchases to reduce the cost of the game, in a fashion similar to the Just For You discounts now offered on My Nintendo.

Take-Two Interactive has shared that they are "impressed" at the unrelenting sales momentum behind Nintendo Switch at the moment, although wouldn't be pushed for hints as to whether they have any more games that are destined for the plucky portable home console. Gold Points could be exchanged for software discounts, and Platinum could be exchanged for digital rewards, such as 3DS themes or wallpapers or, sometimes, small games like Flipnote Studio 3D. Gold Points will be good for a year once they have been earned. This means once this program launches in March 2018, people would be able to use Gold Points earned in March 2017 or later.

Once earned, Gold Points remain valid until the last day of the month in the following calendar year. We'll update this post if and when Nintendo confirms My Nintendo Gold Points can be used locally, although users with foreign Nintendo accounts should have no problem accessing the program.

Plays: Switch, 3DS, Xbox One, Pokémon TCG, and Various Board Games.
