American, United and Southwest airlines warned travelers to expect more flight cancellations to and from Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio.

As of Friday morning, the National Weather Service received reports of between 9 and 11 inches (23 to 28 centimeters) of snow over a 24-hour period in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

"Whether that's young kids, homeless, elderly, sick, commuters - in every capacity we are responding and ensuring that people are able to handle this weather".

According to, The heaviest snow is now expected to fall over northern IL and southern Wisconsin - about 5 to 7 inches of snow with locally heavier amounts is now expected from Madison southward into northern IL.
