Arsenal's Arsene Wenger anxious as fans stay away for Watford game

Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi will undergo tests on the groin injury he picked up during Sunday's Premier League victory over Watford.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang doubled the Gunners' advantage in the second half, before Henrikh Mkhitaryan fired in a third in the 77th minute from the edge of the box for his first Premier League goal for the Gunners.

Mkhitaryan sealed Arsenal's victory, their first league win since beating Everton 5-1 on February 3, with a shot from inside the penalty area following Aubameyang's pass.

Winning the Europa League guarantees qualification for next season's Champions League and, with Arsenal's hopes of achieving that goal via a top-four finish looking bleak, it was no surprise Wenger prioritised the continental competition.

Watford's chance to reduce the deficit from the spot came two minutes later, when Ainsley Maitland-Niles clumsily left his body in the path of Pereyra to go tumbling over. I remember very well every time he refused the biggest clubs to stay at Arsenal.

With the score at 2-0, Deeney saw his penalty kick saved by Petr Cech, and while Gunners fans absolutely loved it, they are also giving props to the striker for what he did after his side's defeat. "It shows a huge level of motivation and intelligence, and he shows plenty of that".

"We took 18 games [of this season] to get to nine clean sheets, I got to 199 and then had to wait 11 games to get another clean sheet", said Cech.

And on his 141st appearance for Arsenal, Ozil, who is well-known for his creative abilities, subsequently became the fastest player in Premier League history to reach 50 assists.

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal should be available for selection for their season-defining fixture. "We feel the confidence is back", Aubameyang said.

"The spirit kept us out of trouble".

"You're 4-0 up and conceded late goals. We'll try to do our best in this end of the season and of course [hope fans] come to the stadium".

Fair play to Deeney for fronting up when he knew he would get a lot of abuse for missing the penalty.
