How Manchester United Will STOP David De Gea From Leaving

Manchester United had Nemanja Matic to thank after the Serbian's injury-time victor against Crystal Palace on Monday night but the midfielder's last-gasp strike would have had a different look without David De Gea.

David de Gea has a save percentage of 81.9% - the highest of any goalkeeper in the Premier League.

Indeed, De Gea is reported to be close to penning a mega £350,000-a-week deal at Old Trafford, as Mourinho looks to keep arguably the best goalkeeper in Europe.

De Gea has been a long time target for the Los Blancos and was on the verge of joining them in August 2015 on a dramatic transfer deadline day but the deal failed through because of a supposedly faulty fax machine.

However, according to Yahoo Sport, the 27-year-old and his agent Jorge Mendes have yet to receive an upgrade on his current deal at Old Trafford.

Real Madrid will be on the lookout for a new goalkeeper and while all the signs point towards them turning their attention towards Thibaut Courtois, De Gea's potential availability might just tempt them to reignite their interest in the Spaniard.

They sensationally claim the Special One wants Toni Kroos, Isco, Marco Asensio or Raphael Varane in a player-plus-cash deal involving De Gea. The Spain global has less than 16 months remaining on his current deal and is once again the subject of interest from hometown club Real Madrid.

De Gea has previously been strongly linked with Real Madrid, but the Spanish stopper has seemingly become increasingly settled in the North-West of England over the past 12 months.
