"(Best friend) Gayle (King) was like, 'Don't you love babies?' I was like, 'Oh, babies are fine...' It didn't feel like it was for me".

When she's unable to go back to bed, Mindy typically spends her time responding to family members who have got in touch to congratulate her on the birth of her little girl.

"I think Oprah was used to having it be very quiet and Reese and I would just be chatting her up at the earliest times when you just want to be alone by yourself", she said of being in makeup at 4 a.m.

Rather than pick something extravagant for her answer, Mindy - who welcomed her first child, a daughter named Katherine, into the world in December - decided on an answer that was closer to present day. "And then I got off the phone with Nicole and I like, hugged myself gently for a moment, and said, 'This is really happening, you're working with Meryl Streep, '" she joked. "She was just smart, and that's why I identified with her".

"It straight-up sucks compared to what Oprah gave me".

Colbert's response to being outdone by the media titan? "Ava's going to help me".

The new mother sat down with "Good Morning America" and revealed that while she never thought science fiction could speak to a girl like her, this story did.
