Mobile Reveal Trailer: Fortnite Battle Royale

The high number of people signing up saw the Epic Games website briefly crash earlier today and many players still have their fingers crossed that they will get an invite to the game.

Technically, cross-play is perfectly achievable, with developer Epic Games showcasing the functionality after accidentally enabling it in September 2017. Once you do so you will be receiving an e-mail confirmation such as the one below. No idea, but it sounds like Epic plans to take its time with testing.

That's because the game weighs in at around 9-15GB on each platform, a hefty size for someone with limited data. Mobile devices will be receiving the same maps, same weekly content, and the same gameplay as all the other platforms. Epic is only letting small groups in at first, as the game is not finished yet. Those who receive the invite codes will be able to share it will other players.

Are you way too excited about the concept of taking Fortnite: Battle Royale with you wherever you go?

Fans will need to enter email addresses, create an account and select their preferred device.

Sign-ups for the "Fortnite" Battle Royale Mode is now available for iOS users.

'If you are on an Android device, please sign up... If you're playing on an aging phone than your mileage may vary somewhat, but we're willing to bet that the game will still look great. "Console players who are partied with PC players will play in the PC pool", Chester said, debunking the theory PC users would be able to play on consoles' servers.

As for when this will be launched, unfortunately, Epic has not yet revealed a date.

The good news about Fortnite on mobile is that it supports cross-play.

Why isn't Fortnite PS4 and Xbox One crossplay a thing?

While there aren't now plans for cross-play functionality between PS4 and Xbox One, Xbox head Phil Spencer said he'd like to see cross-play between the two consoles.

Of course if you want to get all that gear without having to play for hours then you can buy V-Bucks using real money.
