Nicolas Cage Voices Superman in New 'Teen Titans' Movie

Movie history nerds know this already: Nicolas Cage was nearly Tim Burton's Superman. Cage was cast as the Kryptonian in Tim Burton's Superman Lives, which of course, didn't see the light of day.

Although it will only be a cameo in the animated movie, Teen Titans GO! to the Movies, the Oscar-winning actor, 54, will appear as Superman - something he was slated to do back '90s. The latest Teen Titans GO! film, for instance, is the ideal opportunity to fulfill the actor's lifelong dream, and he was sure to leap (tall buildings in a single bound) at the opportunity. The film was ultimately cancelled due to rising costs and concerns over the script. Lots of outlandish photos and concept art have emerged from the project, which either would have a total mess or one of the most unique superhero features ever made.

Cage did, however, play the title role in both Ghost Rider movies, and while he was delightfully hammy in them, the films themselves were a massive disappointment to fans. Along with the existing cast, USA TODAY has revealed who will voice some DC superheroes who will be making cameos in the film. But not as thrilled as Cage, who named his son Kal-El and called his unmade Superman movie "the Superman" movie. Halsey will voice Wonder Woman.

The dreams - memes - are finally coming true for Nicolas Cage. The real stars are Robin (Scott Menville), Starfire (Hynden Walch), Raven (Tara Strong), Cyborg (Khary Payton), and Beast Boy (Greg Cipes).

"Every superhero in the DC Universe has an impact on the fans", the film's executive producer, Sam Register, told USA Today.

Cage came very close to playing the part on screen before, going so far as to try out different Superman costumes.

The new feature-length adventure spun from Warner Bros.
