Nokia 9, Nokia 8 Pro to reportedly launch later this year

HMD's launch of the Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6 2018 and Nokia 1 is just the beginning of what should be an exciting year for the Finnish company. As the Nokia 9 is a flagship device, it could be competitively priced with some exclusive features but detailed information is scarce right now. Both are set to run on the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 845 processor. Now is a recent report is to be believed, Nokia 9 is still very much in the works and will be unveiled alongside the Nokia 8 pro later this year. It has been said that Nokia 9 is far better than Nokia 8 Pro and is coming with the new camera. While both phones are said to sport similar specifications such as Snapdragon 845 SoCs, and the Nokia 9 might pack some upgraded features like Penta-lens camera setup. Naturally, this will likely make it more expensive as well.

HMD is keeping the second half of the year, particularly sometime in August, to launch the Nokia 8 Pro which will be the company's main 2018 flagship, or at least one of them. Interestingly, the report suggests that the Nokia 8 Sirocco was in fact the 2017 version of the Nokia 9.

A purchase of the 8 during the promo period will net buyers a free JBL Bluetooth headset, which Nokia says is worth P3,000. The Nokia 9 will boast a slightly larger screen i.e. 5.7-inch, as compared to the Nokia 8 Pro which will have a 5.5-inch screen.

Still, it is expected that the Nokia 9 might get a heftier price tag. The primary sensor will be of 12-megapixel, while the secondary sensor will be of 13-megapixel. It is expected to have a 5.7-inch display. For the front, there would be a 5-megapixel selfie camera.

With a pure Android installation, Nokia smartphones come with no unnecessary UI changes or hidden processes that would eat up battery life or slow them down so users can enjoy their new phone for longer.
