Light crowd has few questions at forum
A couple dozen people along with city officials attended Mayor Kyle Moore's second community-wide town hall at the Kroc Center on Tuesday night. Few asked questions though those who spoke up expressed support for the Mayor.
Moore detailed things he had accomplished in his first year in office, noting he is just a few weeks away from completing his first year. He said there were challenges such as the Newcomb Hotel fire and hydropower, but he was looking forward to the next few years.
"A lot of the problems that a first year mayor has need to be taken care of, but then after that, we can start focusing on some of the things we talked about in the campaign."
Moore said the Quincy Scorecard was in use and he unveiled a five year infrastructure plan, showing those in attendance a map of planned projects based on current funding.
Moore also went through the budgeting process that has been playing out over the last few weeks at council meetings. He also said that the city is continuing to go after a port project but is going to have to take a different approach to get a needed federal grant to fund the project.
He said hundreds of people have been engaged at the various forums throughout the year and anyone is welcome to call him at his office
