Students are out of school until Tuesday and not allowed to participate in extra-curricular activities

On the heels of senior prank that has nearly 40 Highland (Mo.) High School students being held out of graduation, some Quincy High School students decided to pull a stunt themselves.

"There was a student prank at 9 a.m. this morning involving approximately 50 students," said QHS Principal Danielle Edgar. "We are addressing this with student disciplinary consequences."

There are approximately 455 seniors in this year's QHS graduating class.

The students involved were dismissed from school at midday and are suspended until Tuesday.

"When a student is out-of-school suspended, he/she is excluded from extra-curriculars for the length of the suspension," Edgar said in a follow-up response to a question from Quincy Journal.

Edgar did not elaborate on what the students did. One parent of a suspended student described it as "Students left their classrooms and ran hallways with Silly String," the parent said in a text message to Quincy Journal. "Some left the building then came back...chaos and disturbance."

Weekend activities some seniors could miss if they were involved include QHS baseball games on Friday and Saturday, QHS softball games on Friday and Monday, the District Track meet and the Choir and Jazz Band Pops Concert on Sunday,
