The Board of Directors of Sunset Home has announced the appointment of Dawn St. Clair-Davis as their Administrator.

St. Clair-Davis has served as the Assistant Administrator since March of 2013, with the Board intent she would become the full-time Administrator.  She replaces Jerry Neal, who has served in an interim capacity since November 2012 and will stay on until July 1, 2014 to continue the transition.

Prior to joining the Sunset Home team, St. Clair-Davis served as the Administrator for Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal, MO for five years.  She had previously worked as a Program Director for Community Alternatives Missouri, and as an Advocacy Specialist/Investigator for Missouri Protection and Advocacy Services.  She holds a Masters of Business Administration from William Woods University and a Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice from Hannibal-LaGrange University.  St. Clair-Davis also holds the designation as a Certified Professional in Adult Services Risk Management from the Center for Aging Services Risk Management.  St. Clair-Davis serves locally on the Board of Cheerful Home in Quincy as Finance Chair, and as Vice President of the Board for Northeast Independent Living Services (NEILS) in Hannibal, MO.  St. Clair-Davis is also a member of the Rotary Club of Quincy and is a Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary.

St. Clair-Davis says of her new role, “It is truly an honor to have the opportunity to lead an organization such as Sunset Home.  A community where people come first and we are able to carry out our mission on a daily basis to share the love of Jesus Christ through services to the aging, without regard to race, color or creed, and to administer the care for those served with compassion and with charity.”

Sunset Home recently closed on a $6 million bond through the City of Quincy enabling the recent unveiling of a newly renovated dining room and as well as many other needed improvements to the home.  Plans for a new short-term rehabilitation unit are in the beginning stages and should open by early 2015.  In addition to the 182 bed Skilled Nursing Facility, Sunset Home also operates Sunset Villas, which are senior condominiums on their main campus, and Sunset Apartments located at 301 North 8th Street in Quincy.   Sunset Home will celebrate its 125 year anniversary later this year.
