Proceeds from the event will support the group's 2013 spring tour
Audiences will be treated to a wide variety of vocal and instrumental selections performed by talented area students at John Wood Community College's Fine Arts Department Fall Music Concert. The annual event is set for Sunday, October 14 at 2 p.m. in the Mary Ellen Orr Auditorium located in the Paul Health Fine Arts and Community Education Center on the Quincy campus at 48th and Harrison.
JWCC's Concert Choir, Jazz Band and Vocal Show Ensemble will provide a showcase to appeal to all ages. Admission is $3.00 for adults. Students are admitted free of charge.
Proceeds from the event will support the group's 2013 spring tour. JWCC's music groups tour annually and in past years have performed in Chicago, Memphis, Nashville, Kansas City and Branson at popular venues, including Union Station, Stax Music Academy, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis Redbirds AutoZone Park and Silver Dollar City.
The groups are under the direction of Gary DeClue, JWCC fine arts professor and department chair and Rhonda Basinger, JWCC associate professor of music and accompanist.
