Ken Hultz and Jared Holbrook have each filed petitions to run for 3rd Ward aldermanic seat as Republicans
There will be at least one primary in Quincy come February.
Ken Hultz filed his petitions Wednesday morning to run for Third Ward Alderman as a Republican. He is the second person to do so as Jared Holbrook filed his petitions for the same spot on Monday.
Two others have taken out petitions for 3rd Ward Alderman but have not filed them: Tom Ernst as a Republican and Mike Martin as a Democrat.
The seat will be open as the incumbent, Kyle Moore, is running for mayor. Moore is the lone Republican to have filed for mayor so far. Quincy Mayor John Spring has filed to run for re-election as a Democrat.
Two other incumbents have also filed their petitions: Treasurer Peggy Crim and 7th Ward Aldermen Jack Holtschlag. Both are Democrats.
Monday is the last day for Democrats and Republicans to file for the municipal election. To see who else has filed petitions for next year’s municipal elections, click here.
The primary election is February 26 and the general consolidated election is April 9.
