GREDF annual meeting set for Wednesday

Former GREDF President Jim Mentesti will be honored

The Great River Economic Development Foundation's 2013 Annual Meeting and Jim Mentesti's retirement celebration will be held on Wednesday, January 9 in Kent Hall at the Oakley-Lindsay Center, 300 Civic Center Plaza in Quincy.

A cash bar will be available at 5:00 p.m. with the meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Retirement remarks will be given at the close of the annual meeting presentation with a reception in Jim's honor immediately following. No RSVP
is required and there is no charge to attend. Members of the business community, the general public and friends/colleagues of Jim Mentesti are
encouraged to attend.

Current Chairman of the GREDF Board, Tim Finlay, will give the 2013 Annual Meeting presentation which includes highlights from the past year and
recognizes GREDF's many partners in economic development. This year's theme is "A Salute and Thank You to Our Partners".

"We thought it was appropriate to highlight many of the partnerships Jim Mentesti spent his career building on the night we celebrate his retirement," Finlay sayd.

Additional speakers include Mayor John Spring and Mike McLaughlin, past Chairman of the Adams County Board. Brad Billings, President and CEO of
Blessing Health System and past Chairman of the GREDF Board of Directors, will give remarks.

In lieu of gifts in honor of his retirement, Mentesti  has requested that a fund be established to benefit GREDF employee training & development and quality of life projects. Checks may be made payable to GREDF.

At the December GREDF Board of Directors meeting, GREDF Chairman Tim Finlay acknowledged the service of retiring board member, John Johnson, who served as an Adams County appointee on the GREDF board for nearly a decade.

Finlay also gave the Board an update on the search for the new GREDF president. Members of the search committee are currently reviewing applications.
