Classes meet Monday through Thursday evenings
John Wood Community College will offer several evening Computer Aided-Design (CAD) and Electrical classes at the College’s Workforce Development Center starting January 13.
Classes meet Monday through Thursday evenings from January through May 15 from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. Local and regional manufacturers have job openings for individuals with skills learned in JWCC’s programs.
Students interested in computer aided-design should start with Drafting Terminology for CAD Monday evenings from 5:30 to 9 p.m. This course introduces students to terminology used in the drafting field as related to computer aided-design. Other classes offered include Introduction to CAD, CAD Applications I, Introduction to Parametric Modeling, CAD Applications II and III, Three Dimensional Application and Introduction to Manufacturing Process.
Survey of Electrical Trades will meet Mondays from 6 to 9 p.m. for students interested in the electrical program. Other electrical courses being offered this fall include Electrical Applications, Residential Electricity, Electric Motors and Control, Industrial Electricity, Electrical Systems Analysis and Specialized Electrical Circuit.
Cost for each class is $399 plus applicable fees for in-district residents. (Survey of Electrical Trade is a two-credit hour class, with a cost of $266.) Financial Aid may be available for those who qualify. To register call 217.641.4523 or 217.641.4338 by January 3 to avoid a $75 late fee.
